“Calculated” by Nova McBee

🐦‍🔥Double 8, Josephine, Octavia, Phoenix, Mila - all names that lead to the same girl. Yes, she has a gift, but does it really bring luck and happiness, or is it more of a curse? I would say that her ability to calculate everything to the last second, even before the information has reached her consciousness, is both a gift and a punishment. Hadn’t she had these abilities, Double 8 probably wouldn't have been torn apart from her family, she wouldn't have been tortured, used, chased. But without them, she would hardly have been able to face Madame, King and the entire corrupt underworld🥷♨️. Without these abilities, this story would have probably not existed (which would have been such a pity).

♾️“Calculated” is another impressive book from Peppermill Books Publishing, I have rarely been so excited to continue a book series. With every page, the story captivates you so much that you can't stop until you find out what will happen in the next chapter, and the next, and the next... And then, without even having realised, you reach the end. And this is an ending that leaves you with hope, but also with fear, because there will definitely be twists and turns coming. We will probably learn something shocking about the characters (I'm especially excited about one in particular🤫), maybe new ones will appear? Will we find out more about Red, Raphael, Kai? (I think Kai is the perfect male character; I don't want to think about what will be revealed about him😭…). What will happen to Josephine, to her family? What about Madame👑? We can't be sure, and that's the best part. I think that we will invariably encounter the cruelty of the world that Nova McBee describes again and again- with all its corruption and poverty, with the thirst for power and money💵 and economic collapses📉, with the violence and the trade with children, girls, lives💔.

The USA, China, Australia, Italy, Spain, underground or above ground… Past, present, future… No one knows where the author will take us in the next books in the series. But wherever it is, I can't wait to take on new dangerous missions with these very interesting characters, led by N.McBee and her style, which I have imperceptibly grown to love❣️. Her writing won me over with its natural flow, unencumbered and somehow light despite (or rather- because of) the numbers from Phoenix's calculations, as well as with the constantly increasing tension.

🐦‍🔥I think, I will soon share a little more about the characters, in a separate post, because they are different from each other, complex and it is worth reflecting on their personalities. Will you be interested in reading about them❓❤️

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Peppermill Books for the copy of the book, and Nova McBee for creating such a unique and captivating story!🥺❤️
